Every year, Carroll Creek Park is filled with individually designed lighted sailboats, which set sail in November and are on display through March. Sailing Through the Winter Solstice is a fundraiser - visitors can vote on their favorite boat, with donations supporting local non-profit organizations. This year a total of $130,545 was raised.
The Morgan-Keller/ City Youth Matrix, Frederick Maryland boat raised $8,982 and came in third in total donations out of the 28 boats!
