German Alvarado, a Site Foreman with MK Concrete Construction, recently received the Douglas L. Harbaugh Safety Award. This award is given each year to the Morgan-Keller (MK) employee who most exemplifies the safety culture of Morgan-Keller. Some requirements of the award include outstanding awareness of potential safety problems and resolving those issues immediately; looking out for fellow employees when they are in harm’s way and communicating concerns to alleviate the hazard; performing job duties in a safe and productive manner; and offering help to fellow employees when they are struggling with tasks.
Roger Young, Safety Manager of Morgan-Keller, said the following, “German is a positive employee every day regardless of the conditions. He is a leader on the jobsite and performs his tasks efficiently and quickly, but always safely. German offers to work in difficult situations that others might hesitate to do. He is generally one of the safest, most productive, and likeable workers that MK could ever ask for in an employee.”
