Morgan-Keller has a comprehensive safety program which is headed by Mario Benjamin, Director of Safety. Insuring the safety of every individual - construction workers, client employees and client guests - on all M-K sites is Mario’s only job. Mario is fluent in both English and Spanish and conducts safety seminars in either language as needed. In addition, the firm has a written safety program, M-K’s Safety 7000 Manual. All new team members are required to participate in a safety orientation; further safety training requirements are identified and initiated by the Director of Safety as a result of his regular visits to all job sites. Mario visits every M-K job site a minimum of once a week and frequently more often. In addition, each job has an M-K employee on site who is assigned responsibility for insuring that all work is performed safely.
Morgan-Keller has received no violation citations in the last three years from OSHA/MOSHA.
Morgan-Keller maintains a list of all required information on chemicals and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). All MSDS are kept by each project superintendent on-site and are readily available for the inspection of workers and other interested parties.
Douglas L. Harbaugh Safety Award
Annually, M-K honors a field team member with the Douglas L. Harbaugh Safety Award. Doug Harbaugh was Safety Director for M-K from March 29, 1999 to April 30, 2000. In honor of Doug’s memory, Morgan-Keller established a safety award in his name to be given annually to a team member, selected by his peers, who exemplifies Doug’s vision for the company.
